My pursuit of learning and improving my freediving skills

Latest News

**Update: I just completed PADI Advanced Freediver! I'm excited. Thanks to Bob at Blue Water Freedivers for great instruction and support.

Most of the locations near me are closed for the season, even some of the boats on the Gulf are pausing for maintenance and other events. So it is time to work dry land training, clean and maintain gear, and hit the pool for practice throughout the winter. Also, it is a chance for me to get to Florida for some work and vacation travel, along with hitting a couple of classes in the warmer part of the state!

Pool Training

Life throws us some unexpected things at times. Because of that I'm only in the pool until November.   So, I'm making the most of the time to work on mental aspects and relaxation in DNF.

I have earned PADI Divemaster Certification.  This process started a long time ago with getting Open Water Certified in 1999!  I decided in January of this year (2023) to work toward Divemaster. I had earned a number other certs (Advanced Open Water, NITROX, and Freediver). I was really enjoying diving and decided to get Emergency First Responder,  Rescue Diver, and Divemaster.  Now it is time to practice and advance in Freediving, and get ready to work toward Open Water Instructor.  In the meantime, I'll continue to help with Open Water and Advanced Open Water classes with the great instructors I know, and dive with my great dive buddy (my wife!).
